'Oscar Minor' Waring School was a non-districted elementary school in the St. Louis Public School system. It was operated in conjunction with the then 'Harris Teachers College' as an educational resource for the students at Harris as well as those of us at Waring. Edit this Place

Often there would be a class from the Harris Teacher's College sitting in the rear of our classrooms as silent observers of the techniques of our teachers. Various students were also selected for small group, (3 or 4), tutoring by an aspiring teacher. As was my experience with this 'special attention' it seemed to have very little to do with augmenting the curriculum. Often you were instructed in some subject that the teacher in training had an expertise in, or thought you ought to be exposed to. This was my 8th grade graduating class of June 1971.
