I remember the long, rutty road down to the lake. I remember the Social Hall and the rare treat of watching "Fen" choreographing folkdances that we would all do. There were so many steps to music from Europe, an Mediterranean countries. I also remember listening to Howie (andChuck?) play their versions of Folk- I remember Beo and "The Boyfriend"other plays and musicals Memories fade in and out again... One summer you could paddle through the area in front of the "girl's line." The rooms in The Dining Hall were different colors,I believe. There was nothing better than "egg bread, bug juice, or candy line." Who was going to get to the dining hall, or candy line, or down to the lake (Lake Glimmerglass) first? I remember a day out of the week with baked goods, and I have retained an image of a big, square "pit" for outdoor celebrations. Laura Galen, Joey Parnes and David Cantor and others an entourage of talent.Luis Merlo enjoyed playing Gilbert & Sullivan with gusto! I also have a memory of a kitchen with equipment that was sturdy and reliable, with a woman who I found large and frightening...

I remember watching the play Tom Sawyer with Jon Goldsmith's Canadian accent, Fen's shorts, "Do you love me" with Debbie Bauman. The Who's Tommy or James Taylor playing on the loudspeaker, Diane Kull and the pottery shed. Writing scary stories for SCEC. Candle boats at night on the lake. Remember when the littlest campers took a trip to Sugar mountain! What did we call the little shack in the woods near the lake where we snuck off to buy candy??
